The number 666 has usually had a reputation for representing an “evil” number. When we look way the number 6 from a Biblical perspective, we see that it has a spiritual meaning and value. It not only represents imperfect man, but also represents a prophetic sign. When Jesus had John write down His revealing of the future, its purpose was to warm both believers and non-believers of the coming unholy Satanic trinity. The reason Jesus told us the number 666, was to show us that this will be the Mark of evidence of this system. It is a worldly system that will embody Mankind’s utter rebellion against God, fueled by hatred from Satan, himself. This final prophetic Revelation is a sign for the people that are alive at this time and witness the unfolding of these things. They are to recognize that when these things begin to happen, that they are very close to the second coming of Jesus.
The stories of David and Goliath and of Nebuchadnezzar have prophetic similarities that also show us a foreshadow of this system that will be in place at the end of days.
Let’s begin by connecting the similarities from these two stories, which occurred at two different times in history.
Roughly, the story of Daniel and Nebuchadnezzar occurred 477 years before David and Goliath’s. Though set at two different timelines, they reveal the same message. Both stories are prophecies that foretell how this world will have a system at the end, that will be forced upon all, but will ultimately be destroyed by Jesus, Himself. In order to makes the links between the two, first we must look at each story.
In the book of Daniel chapter 3:1, we read that “King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, sixty cubits high and six cubits wide, and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon.” There is a pattern of three numbers mentioned that should not go unnoticed. The statue was 60 cubits high and six cubits wide. Then in verse 5 we read, “As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.” Here we see another number, it is the number of 6 different instruments mentioned that were to be used in worship of this image. When we add them all together we get:
60 cubits high
6 cubits wide
6 different instruments

These three 6’s (also known as 666) represent the number of mankind and a system. This system the Bible calls the “Beast” is described in the book of Revelation. In Revelation 13:15 it reads,
“The second beast was permitted to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship it to be killed.” There was an evil system and an image that required worship in the book of Daniel. Refusal to comply, resulted in death and the exact same thing will occur at the end of history, before the second coming of Jesus.
In the book of Daniel we see that “whoever does not fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace” Daniel 3:6. Worship was demanded and refusal ended up in death.
The interesting thing in this part of the story, is that Daniel is not present, but only his friends. We find this in Daniel 3:19, “Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual.” Again, do not overlook the number 7 here. Seven is known as the number of perfection with God. The three friends perhaps represent God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, a symbol of the Holy trinity. A trinity that is not affected by man’s laws. The number 7 is representative of God and fire always represents judgement by God. Since Nebuchadnezzar thought of himself as “god”, he was judging these three men of God, but because the three men represented the real God, we see that this fire couldn’t even touch these men of God. So, in the future, God will provide protection to those of Israel that repent and serve Jesus during the Tribulation. “But the woman (Israel) was given two wings of a great eagle to fly from the presence of the serpent to her place in the wilderness, where she was nourished for a time, and times, and half a time.”
In this dream that Nebuchadnezzar had, he saw a stone. In Daniel 2:34-35 it reads, “While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were all broken to pieces and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth.”
This stone represents Jesus, in verse 34 it mentions that it was ” not cut by man” because it was of God, Jesus Himself. It shows us that Jesus will return to earth to destroy this system and there won’t be left any part of it, after it’s destruction. Then, after that, Jesus will rule the entire earth as King.

In the story of David and Goliath, we notice that Goliath represents his pagan god and mocks Israel, God’s chosen people. This story also holds the number 6 in it. Goliath was a height of 6 cubits. The head of his spear weighed 600 shekels of iron and he also wore 6 pieces of armor ( I Samuel 17:4-7). These also represent 666.
In the Bible, any prophetic event is always given a precursor or what is called a foreshadow to the event itself. In this story, David represents Jesus in the future. The fact that David killed Goliath by a stone that cracked his head (skull), shows that Jesus will take down Satan, the “head” of this unholy Beast system that stands against God. The stone David uses is symbolic of Jesus, also, in that Jesus was God’s corner stone that was rejected the first time He came. Once Jesus takes down Satan’s system, He will fulfill Mark 12:10, “And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:” We can see the symbolism of God declaring how He will ultimately win the battle against Satan.
In Genesis 3:15, we read a future prophecy that God spoke to Adam because he was the first man and represented mankind. It reads, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. “. Satan had won this spiritual battle, but God would win the war and ultimately defeat Satan, completely. God was declaring that He would put enmity between the woman (God’s spiritual children) and Satan’s spiritual children (including demons and all who reject the Sharon off Jesus). Enmity is defined as: “a feeling or condition of hostility; hatred; ill will; animosity; antagonism.”. When God says that Satan’s head will be bruised, it is translated as Satan’s headship and authority. Enmity is an unusual word in the Hebrew language which only occurs in three other places in the Bible. This word (ἔχθραν) “denotes a blood feud between the man and the serpent race” according to Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges. Satan will only be able to attempt to destroy God’s redeemed, but will fail. This occurred at the cross, Satan thought he had stopped salvation, by the death of Jesus, but it was actually all a part of God’s plan and absolutely necessary for it to work!
So, we see what the number six signifies with mankind, but now let’s see how Jesus changed it’s hold over humanity through redemption.
When God created man, He already knew that sin would be the outcome, even before time was created by Him. God created man on the sixth day, on the seventh day, God rested. Spiritually, the number seven is symbolic of God because it represents His perfection. Since God knew we would fall into sin, man was created on the sixth day, one number short of seven, showing man’s imperfection. Now let’s examine how the number six applies to Jesus.
Not only does the number 6 refer to mankind, but Jesus also has many references too Him and this number, throughout scripture. In Luke 1:26, the Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and also mentioned that her cousin Elizabeth was in her 6th month of pregnancy. In Mark 9:2 and Matthew 17:1, Jesus revealed to Peter, James and John that He was more than mere man. He was transfigured before them 6 days after He told them about His second coming.
Jesus was also found innocent by 6 different people before His crucifixion (King Herod, Pontius Pilate and His wife, Judas Iscariot (when he went to return the money to the Pharisees), one of the thieves that was crucified next to Jesus and the Roman centurion that was present when Jesus died.
In Jewish culture, the Passover was also a precursor to the death of Jesus on the cross. On the sixth day of Passover, it was imperative that all judicial punishments had to be settled before the seventh day off Passover, which falls on the Sabbath. Jesus was crucified and died on the 6th day, paying for everyone’s sins, settling all of man’s accounts, ultimately fulfilling the Passover requirement with God. Jesus took back man’s imperfection and made it His own by taking on the sin of every human being. God’s wrath judged that sin, once and for all. Jesus made 7 statements while on the cross. Again, seven, representing God and His perfection. By redeeming man, Jesus restored that broken relationship with God the Father. Through Jesus and no one else, mankind is able to receive forgiveness and eternal life.

The battle on the cross redeemed mankind and in the near future, Jesus will conquer the rebellion of Satan. So, keep in mind that there is significance to the numbers 6 and 7, but also know that it is God’s wisdom that reveals that truth. Many have become obsessed with the number 666, itself, but God wants everyone to know that there is more to know about it, a deeper meaning that reveals God’s amazing love and plan of redemption for us. It is more than dwelling on the fact that it is a Satanic number, but more so that God Himself, redeemed the effect that the number of imperfection had on mankind.
We are to have discernment and recognize these things. Though written almost 2,000 years ago, we now see that system is in place today. It is indeed a numbering system that is inbedded in today’s technology. All we have to do is look at the logo for Google. We can clearly see that it is a combination of three 6’s. I will write more on this in a future post, but it is only for opening people’s eyes to the now and very real system in place that Jesus told John about when he wrote the book of Revelation almost 2,000 years ago.

For now, look to the amazing significance of how God redeemed mankind back to Him and trampled the enemy. We serve an amazing God that not only completed this, but also revealed it in exquisite details. He wants all to realize that He truly is God because only God could know about this system of the present day, but he revealed to John almost 2,000 years ago. He also revealed it to Daniel 600 years before Jesus was even born. This can only come from a God that sees all, knows all and ultimately loves all. Have a blessed week and look for a future post that will focus on this now present Beast system, that has yet to be enforced. We are indeed living in the last of the End of Days!!!
