There is no other natural example I can think of, other than the butterfly, that displays the idea of what being “born-again” looks like. This animal begins as a caterpillar and goes through a process of transformation that we know as metamorphosis. It is still categorized as the same species or kind, but it has assumed a new and better image and identity that has a greater and different purpose for its life. Isn’t this just like being born-again? We are the same human being, but when God transforms us from the inside, we are a new creation in Christ, so although our body was physically born once, our spirit has been born-again. We are seen as being clothed in Christ’s righteousness, to God. Here are some beautiful promises and benefits from being born-again, I hope they help remind you of your importance to God.

2. I am redeemed and forgiven (Ephesians 1: 7-8)
3. I am a child of God (1 John 3: 1-2)
4. I am a saint (Ephesians 1: 1; Philippians 1:1)
5. I am Christ’s friend (John 15: 15)
6. I am a citizen of Heaven (Philippians 3: 20)
7. I have eternal life (John 5: 24; 1 John 5:11-13)
8. I have received the Spirit of God (1 Corinthians 2: 12)
9. I have been made alive with Christ (2 Corinthians 5: 17)
10. I am God’s masterpiece (Ephesians 2: 10)
11. I am God’s temple (1 Corinthians 3: 16; 6:19)
12. I am blessed with EVERY spiritual blessing (Ephesians 1: 3)
